All seven members of the City Council have endorsed Erin for re-election
Joint statement of Salt Lake City Councilmembers Victoria Petro, Alejandro Puy, Chris Wharton, Ana Valdemoros, Darin Mano, Dan Dugan, and Sarah Young:

Erin Mendenhall has led Salt Lake City with vision, strength, and determination. She deserves a second term as our mayor.
The last four years have shown just how important the right temperament is to the leadership of our city. Erin’s decisiveness has made our city safer and stronger. Mayor Mendenhall boldly led the city through the pandemic, through the earthquakes, through the windstorm, and through the flooding; and she did it without demonizing our allies or picking fights with our would-be partners.
Salt Lakers deserve leaders who are more interested in making progress than playing politics, who are willing to make tough decisions rather than complaining about difficult situations, and who are unafraid to work together to get results.
The Mayor and Council have made record investments in affordable housing, and the recovery of our downtown has been the strongest of any city’s recovery in the country. We are creating exciting new parks and making long-overdue improvements to aging infrastructure. We have made it easier for more of our residents to access public transit, and lowered residential speed limits to make our streets safer.
To address the homelessness crisis, we are building record numbers of supportive housing units for our unsheltered residents and together, we have brought the state, county, and other cities to the table so that our neighborhoods are not shouldering a disproportionate responsibility for a statewide problem.
Our city is still facing real challenges and we believe Erin Mendenhall should continue leading us through them. We believe in Mayor Mendenhall’s strong, positive vision for our city’s future and urge voters to support her in November’s election.
