“As a fifth-generation Rose Park resident, Erin Mendenhall has earned my respect, my endorsement, and my vote.
“Erin has consistently worked with me on many West Side issues — affordable housing, the Folsom Trail, the North Temple bridge, expanded bus routes, protecting Rose Park golf course — and she truly went to bat for the West Side over the Inland Port. When the Mayor walked away from negotiations with the state, she left West Side residents dangerously exposed. Erin and the Council stepped up in a big way to protect West Side residents, winning important environmental concessions and ensuring the people in our community will always have a seat at the table on the Inland Port Authority Board. Erin worked with us to ensure the West Side will never again be shut out of Inland Port negotiations.
“Erin is a true friend to Salt Lake City’s West Side. She has been a partner and ally to me on the Council, expanding access to opportunities for West Side residents and building a better deal for neighborhoods whose residents have too often been an afterthought in the city’s political calculus. Erin not only sees the potential of the West Side as a part of this city, but has long felt the responsibility to fight for it.
“The last four years have been rough in City Hall. Because of the Mayor’s lack of leadership or collaboration, the Council has been forced to lead on every major priority facing our city. It’s time for Salt Lake City to grow with maturity, intention, and equity, and for that we need someone who has shown over and over again that she knows how to get real results for this city. That is why I support and endorse Erin Mendenhall for Salt Lake City Mayor!
“(Plus, Erin loves the West Side so much that her son goes to West High School. You know what they say: ‘Once a panther, always a panther!’)”
